Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

What is Breast Enlargement?

Are you frustrated with the size, proportion, or feel of your breasts? At Patients Medical, we take a holistic approach to breast augmentation by working carefully with our clients before, during, and after their procedure to ensure a positive outcome, and to help their bodies heal as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Here are some of the questions we often receive from clients who are interested their breast enlargement options.

Am I a candidate for breast enlargement?

Making surgical changes to your body is a powerful process. The best candidates are those who are in relatively good health, and who are sure about their decision to get breast implants. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you constantly bothered by the smallness of your breasts?
  • Do you struggle to find clothes that fit both your hip and waistline without bagging at the chest area?
  • Is swim season stressful because you're self-conscious about your small breasts in a bathing suit?
  • Has recent weight loss created saggier or deflated breasts?
  • Do your post-baby breasts seem smaller, or less full/firm, than before you were pregnant?
  • Is one of your breasts markedly smaller, or disproportional, than the other?
  • We provide the best breast treatment in various locations like NYC 10036, 10168, 10110, 10155, 10038, 10014, 10006, 10019, 10018, 10128, 10270 and more.

If you answered, "Yes!" to any of these questions, you are a candidate for breast enlargement procedures.

What are the different types of breast implants?

Saline breast implants:
These breast implants are filled with non-toxic, salinated water. The lumen are custom-filled to your desired breast size. Doctors may choose to fill them during the procedure for greater accuracy.

Silicone breast implants:
Silicone implants are pre-filled using a gel that is soft and malleable. They require a slightly longer incision compared with their saline counterparts.

Gummy bear implants:
You may have heard about the newest saline implants on the market, called "Gummy Bear Implants". These implants, similar to their namesake, remain completely intact when punctured, or even when cut in half. They are slightly more firm than traditional silicone implants.

Fat transfer:
Have you ever thought, “I wish I could take the fat out of my thighs and put it in my breasts”? If so, this may be an option you can explore. Fat transfer uses liposuction to take fat away from the parts you don’t want it and put it back in to places (such as your breasts) where you would like more volume.

During your pre-surgical consultations, your doctor will discuss which type of breast implant is best suited for your procedure.

What happens during a breast implant surgery?

During the surgery, your doctor will make one of three incisions: directly in line with the bottom of your areola, in the bottom crease where your breast meets your rib cage, or in your arm pit. Once the incision is made, the surgeon will create a pocket where the implant will be placed, either behind or in front of your pectoral muscle. Once the breast implant is inserted, the incision will be neatly stitched, and you will be on your way to recovery in a brand new body.

Are there pre- and post-operative treatments I can use to enhance the healing process?

Yes! At Patients Medical we recommend several treatments before and after surgery in order to minimize bruising and swelling, reduce the chances of infection, and to facilitate healing surgery recovery.

Diet and supplementation. Our staff can talk to you about an anti-inflammatory diet, as well as anti-inflammatory supplements that facilitate healing.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Patients who use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy experience fewer infections, decreased swelling and bruising, and a faster healing period.

IV Nutrient Therapy. Vitamins C and A, Zinc, and other nutrients can help your body heal faster. Using post-operative IV nutrient therapy will get these healing agents directly into your blood stream.

If you are interested in breast enlargement, we recommend that you come in for a consultation to learn more about breast enlargement procedures, and other anti-aging treatments that will improve the way you look and feel.
